About
Hi, I'm Tonisha. It's good to meet you.
Life can be challenging, especially during the teenage and young adult years. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationships, academic pressures, or major life transitions, you don't have to navigate it alone.
I'm a dual-licensed School Counselor and Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping teens and adults find healing, confidence, and hope. I believe that every person deserves a safe space where they can be themselves without fear of judgment.
Through my experience working in both school and mental health settings, I have witnessed firsthand the unique challenges young people face today. From balancing academic demands and social pressures to navigating family concerns, identity development, and life's uncertainties, I understand how overwhelming it can feel when you're carrying more than you know how to manage.
My counseling approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. My goal is not only to help you through difficult moments but also to empower you with tools that will serve you long after our work together.
"Healing doesn't happen because someone tells you what to do. It happens when you feel supported, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change in your life."
You don't have to have all the answers before you begin. Sometimes the strongest step you can take is simply reaching out.
— Tonisha King

Questions
Things people often ask
What happens in a first session?
Your intake session is a relaxed conversation about your story, what brought you in, and what you'd like to be different. We'll set goals together and sketch a plan. No pressure, no judgment, and you only share what you're ready to share.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Secure video sessions are available to anyone located in Indiana. Many clients mix telehealth with in-person visits at the Fort Wayne office, whatever fits your life best.
What insurance do you take?
Most major plans, including Aetna, Anthem, CareSource, Optum, and Physicians Health Plan (PHP). Medicaid is not currently accepted. If your plan isn't listed or you'd rather self-pay, reach out and we'll find a way to make it work.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you share in session stays in session. The few legal exceptions, like risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, are explained clearly at your first appointment, so there are never surprises.
How do I cancel or reschedule?
Just call or text (260) 207-4506, or email Tonisha.King.LLC@gmail.com. Life happens. As much notice as you can give is always appreciated.
Do you offer faith-based counseling?
Yes. Christian, faith-focused counseling is available for clients who want their faith woven into the work. It's always your choice; sessions are equally welcoming if that's not your path.
